| I wanted to use colored fluorescent lights in a piece but couldn’t find a source. Eventually I found a place that sold colored CFLs. However, I wanted to “hide” the light source so the common 4” plastic pipe presented itself as a solution. It was tricky to cut a 2” wide opening in the pipe and a special jig had to be made. I was using the plastic pipe for another piece and experimented by standing it against the wall. I liked the way it cast light onto a surface that reflected the color. Dawn is the result.
